Women's Soccer Receives Six All-Conference Nods

NEWTON, MA- Six Lasell College women's soccer players earned spots on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Conference teams for the 2010 season.  Laser goalkeeper Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, MA) and midfielder Jordynn Frollo (Uxbridge, MA) took first team honors,  forward Jamie Harris (Lynnfield, MA) and defender Molly Clarke (Berlin, CT) were selected on the second team, and defender Meredith Hessler (Middletown, RI) and midfielder Allyson Bushey (Westminster, MA) took places on the third team. 

This is Stickley's (left) third year earning All-GNAC honors, and first time on the first team.  She produced a 7-3-1 overall and a 6-2-1 GNAC record so far this season, including five individual and two shared shutouts.  The shared shutouts  were in back-to-back wins with Lyndon State and Suffolk University early in the season while all five solo shutouts were in GNAC action: Emmanuel (3-0, 09/21/2010, six saves), St. Joseph College of Connecticut (1-0, 10/19/2010, six saves), Johnson & Wales (1-0, 10/28/2010, seven saves), Emerson in the GNAC Tournament semi-finals (2-0, 10/31/2010, three saves), and St. Joseph College of Connecticut (1-0, 11/03/2010, nine saves). 

She has earned GNAC Weekly Goalkeeper honors twice this season and was also named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) once.  She has accumulated 58 saves this season in 11 contests, averaging 5.27 saves per game, while allowing only nine goals for a .82 goals-against average and a .866 save percentage.   She is ranked in the GNAC in four categories, as well as nationally in the NCAA amongst all Division III women's soccer players in two categories. 

Frollo (right) is a second time All-GNAC honoree, having received third team accolades in 2008 as a firstyear. She has played in all 54 contests over the past three seasons, starting in 47 of them.  The junior midfielder started the season named to the All-Tournament team at the Lotto Invitational to open the year up for the Lasers after scoring the game winning goal against Clarkson University in Lasell's first victory of the year.  She went on to score two additional game-deciders, both in league play, including the late game changer in the GNAC Tournament semi-finals which led the Lasers to the Championship for the first time.

Over the course of the season, Frollo has scored five goals and dished out two assists, scoring 12 season points so far. She ranks third on the team in total points this season. 

Harris (left) ranks amongst the second team all-conference players, having put together an incredible freshman season with the Blue & White.  The rookie forward is Lasell's leading scorer this season with 19 goals and one assist, totaling 39 points, including a whopping four season hat tricks.  She has scored two game-winning goals, both in league-play.  In the GNAC, Harris has tallied 12 goals and totaled 24 points and is ranked in six categories: 6th-points (35), 5th-point/game (2.23), 4th- goals (17), 3rd- goals/game (1.08), and 2nd-shots/game (5.77).  Amongst all NCAA Division III women's soccer players, Harris stands in the 18th spot in goals per game, 25th in total goals, 32nd in points per game, and 40th in total points.

Harris has been recognized by the GNAC three times this season as the Rookie of the Week.  

One of the top defenders in the league, Clarke (right) has been the anchor of the Lasers back field in all 19games this season. Clarke provides the last line of protection for the Lasers in the center back position protecting the goalkeepers against the opposition. The junior has done an excellent job as demonstrated by Lasell holding the lowest goals-allowed percentage in the league this season (.84).  Lasell is also the second ranked team in the GNAC for GAA (.911), and in ranked 101st nationally in the same category. 

Clarke has played in 53 contest over her three year career with the Lasers and has scored four goals and handed out three helpers during that time.  This is Clarke's first award from the GNAC.

Senior Ally Bushey (left) is a versatile player who is strong both offensively and defensively.  She has produced three goals this season, two of which were in conference play and were the game-winning goals against Norwich and St. Joseph Connecticut. Bushey also assisted on Frollo's game-decider in the semi-finals of the tournament.  

Bushey has played in 18 games this season and in 69 total contests during her four-year tenure as a Laser.  She has accumulated a career total of 42 points with 18 goals and six assists so far. 

A third time honoree by the GNAC, Hessler (right) has been a principal contributor to the Lasers for three seasons.  Hessler has the ability to produce offense while transitioning back to defense with skill. She reads the game well, will win in the majority of one-on-one situations, and is a skillful passer and play-maker.  The junior is one of the prime reasons that Lasell holds the lowest goals-allowed and second lowest GAA in the league.  

Hessler has played in all 54 contests over her three year stand with Lasell and has produced six goals and two assists during that time, including one game-winning goal.

The Lasers will host the GNAC Tournament Finals on Saturday, November 6th at noon on Taylor Field to decide a Conference Championship Title.  Lasell will entertain Norwich University in vital post-season match.
