Newton, MA- The Lasers' 2026 season came to a close in the GNAC Quarterfinals on Saturday, as fourth-seeded Lasell dropped a 12-8 decision to fifth-seeded Colby-Sawyer at Grellier Field.
The Lasers struck first as Brianna McNeil found the back of the net off a feed from Mara Boldy, but Colby-Sawyer answered to even the score at 1-1 after the opening quarter.
Lasell gained momentum early in the second, scoring back-to-back woman-up goals from Ruby Cahill and Emily Watson to take a 3-2 lead. The Chargers responded with three straight goals to close the half, carrying a 5-3 advantage into the break.
The Lasers battled back in the third quarter, using goals from Watson, Cahill, Boldy, and Lily Hunt to even the game at 7-7. Colby-Sawyer reclaimed the lead late in the frame before adding four goals in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Cahill led Lasell with three goals, while Watson added two goals, five draw controls, three caused turnovers, and two ground balls. McNeil, Boldy, and Hunt each finished with a goal and an assist. Tia Spenlinhauer made eight saves in net.
