Omanovic Repeats as GNAC Player of the Week

(2/1/16) – Junior guard Armin Omanovic (Wilkesboro, N.C.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball player of the week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. This marks Omanovic's second conference honor of the year, as he was tabbed player of the week on January 11.
Omanovic totaled 60 points, nine assists, and 11 rebounds in a crucial 2-0 week for the Lasers. In both games played, Omanovic shot 50% from both the floor and three point range to keep Lasell unbeaten in GNAC action, 12-0. Additionally, Omanovic connected on 24-of-30 shots from the free throw line for an average FT percentage of 80%.
In an 81-60 run over Saint Joe's Maine, the junior guard registered 23 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3PT) before pouring in a game high of 37 points (8-16 FG, 3-6 3PT, 18-23 FT), five assists, and three rebounds in a 105-85 win over Rivier.
Omanovic sits atop GNAC stat leaders in free throw percentage (159-187, 85%) and ranks third in points per game (20.3).
